Amman, May 11 (Petra) – Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, received Senate President Faisal Fayez and his accompanying delegation at Qudaibiya Palace in Manama during an official visit to Bahrain. Fayez conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, along with wishes for their continued health and for Bahrain's ongoing progress and prosperity.
Prince Salman affirmed that Bahraini-Jordanian relations derive their strength from deep-rooted historical ties and close cooperation, supported by the continued care and attention of King Hamad and King Abdullah II.
He called for developing bilateral relations in a manner that fulfills shared aspirations and promotes prosperity for both nations and their peoples.
He discussed the cooperation between Bahrain and Jordan across various sectors and called for strengthening coordination and joint parliamentary and legislative cooperation to enhance bilateral ties and achieve sustainable growth and prosperity.
Prince Salman praised the efforts of King Abdullah II in advancing Bahraini-Jordanian relations and commended Jordan's supportive stance toward Bahrain.
He expressed appreciation for Jordan's solidarity with Bahrain in confronting regional challenges and reaffirmed Bahrain's support for Jordan in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, stability and territorial integrity.
The meeting addressed ways to develop bilateral relations and reviewed regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Fayez, in turn, expressed appreciation for Prince Salman's commitment to strengthening cooperation between Bahrain and Jordan and conveyed his wishes for Bahrain’s continued progress and development.
Fayez praised the deep-rooted relations between the two countries as a model built on mutual respect and constructive cooperation that serves the interests of both nations and the broader Arab and Islamic causes.
"We are proud that these relations enjoy the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to strengthen and sustain them across all fields," Fayez said.
He commended Prince Salman's efforts in advancing Bahrain's comprehensive development under the leadership of King Hamad and thanked him for the warm welcome and his continued support for stronger Jordanian-Bahraini ties.
Fayez noted that the visit reflects the Jordanian Senate's keenness to expand cooperation in economic, investment and parliamentary sectors.
He stressed that Jordan and Bahrain are working together to confront regional challenges and support stability and peace in the region.
He added that bilateral ties represent a deeply rooted strategic partnership based on solidarity and genuine cooperation, serving as a distinguished model for joint Arab action and strategic partnership.
Fayez expressed hope for further cooperation and praised Bahrain’s progress and development in various sectors.
He said that Jordan is committed, under the directives of King Abdullah II, to strengthening relations with Bahrain at all levels, given the longstanding ties between the leaderships and peoples of both countries and their shared commitment to building a strong model of cooperation.
Fayez noted that Jordan and Bahrain share common positions on various Arab and regional issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, support for a just peace and confronting threats to regional security and state sovereignty.
Regarding Iranian attacks targeting Jordan, Bahrain and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Fayez reiterated Jordan's condemnation of the Iranian attacks, noting that King Abdullah II had firmly rejected them as "unacceptable and condemned." He stressed that the security and stability of Bahrain and the GCC countries are integral to Jordan's own security and stability.
He emphasised the need for Arab unity in light of regional challenges, calling for stronger Arab economic integration and the establishment of a unified Arab customs union as a step toward broader Arab cooperation and integration.
The meeting was attended by Senators Salameh Hammad, Tawfiq Krishan, Sanad Neimat, Dhaifallah Qallab, Suhad Jundi and Faisal Jazi, as well as Jordan's Ambassador to Bahrain, Rami Wreikat.
Also attending from the Bahraini side were Chairman of the Shura Council Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and several senior officials.
